Kalilah Enríquez

Kalilah Enríquez (born February 11, 1983) is a Belizean poet, media personality and entertainer. She is currently host of KREM Radio's Wake Up Belize Morning Vibes alongside Evan "Mose" Hyde.[1]

Enríquez was born, raised and attended school in Belmopan, Belize. After graduating Belmopan Comprehensive High School she attended St. John's College Junior College in Belize City, then left on scholarship to Fordham University in New York, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications. Upon returning to Belize she joined KREM Radio as host of the Vibes and KREM's news editor in 2005. She has on occasion contributed to the Amandala. She now works in Jamaica for Hype TV as a presenter.[2] In January 2010 she was the organizer of the “Help Haiti Benefit Concert and Telethon", the biggest show ever in Belize.[3]

As a writer

Enríquez claims she has always wanted to write-and practiced writing-since she was a child. She is currently a member of the Belizean Poets Society (chaired by fellow KREM employee Adele Ramos-Daly) and twice placed in its poetry competitions in 2005 and 2006. Enríquez released her first book and CD of poems entitled "Unfettered" in December 2006 and has released a second.[1]
